So Tom, If I add a comment to an existing thread without adding a "subject" ,then the comment becomes the subject also.
In my last entry here, I left the "Subject" empty
because I thought the "Subject" was initiated by ADMIN
being 'First post...seeing if it works'. What happened
is that my 'looks good' comment also became the subject of the post. Maybe that is the way you want it.

So the answer is: even if the member does not put any text into the SUBJECT FIELD, the SUBJECT FIELD will
be automatically populated with the begining text of the members post
whether the post being made is a REPLY or NEW COMMENT. I don't think that is bad, it is just different than some other forums.

Will we get funny faces :-)

I don't like having a subject line for each comment either, makes things a little confusing. I'm hoping I can uncover some secret setting that will disable that "feature"... so stay tuned & keep commenting!

So - 2 minutes later I think I have it fixed... all it takes is a little poking around and I can usually find a way to change things... not always "fix" things, but I can surely change things!

Well, the setting I changed didn't "fix" it after all... but sure enough it changed things! Now there's no Subject: box - and I thought that would make the Subject line go away... but it still pulls the first few words automatically and creates a Subject line. I don't think we can make it go away, but I'll keep looking.

I was looking at a reply ( but it was a 'comment'----i.e. the date/time gave it away).

  Perhaps replies could be automatically put in a colored field and/or different type

( oh excuse me----that would be a FONT-----showing my age )

I haven't turned on that switch yet... I'm messing with posting pictures on another website that I'm working on, so once I have it working 100% the way I think it should be working I'll get it running here too.
